Application Hosting

Clinical applications developed by TII are hosted in the UNOS data center where we can leverage UNOS’ advanced hardware and server technologies. As opposed to a standard ISP agreement, UNOS provides use of a multi-tiered server environment delivered through hardware virtualization for reliability, security and performance.

We implement, validate and operate clinical applications for clients, freeing companies from the time and expense required to own a dedicated system. TII hosted solutions are developed so as to scale to your needs as your study or project grows in scope.

All server images are built using a base image which has been built to NIST and Microsoft best practices for security. Our physical servers are built with redundant components to greatly reduce the chance of server failure in the event of a hardware failure. All of our servers are supported by guaranteed response time support and supply for hardware from our hardware vendor.

To ensure quick page loading and systems uptime, our Web server farm uses a clustered architecture. State-of-the-art, high performance multi-processor enterprise servers provide exceptional database response, even when processing major OLAP Repository queries. Our multi-server, virtual database configuration provides load balancing and high-availability, which allows systems to continue to run if a single server should fail.

Our clients informatics systems and databases run optimally on UNOS’ Virtual Infrastructure environment where processing needs can be customized to the need of the application, bringing processing power to bear when it is needed seamlessly. For optimal performance and best user experience, TII recommends that users access the informatics system through high-speed Internet connections. UNOS has the equivalent of 28 T1s coming into the building through multiple paths and multiple service providers for redundancy.

To ensure quick response for users, we house production applications on separate hardware environments. Development, testing, quality assurance, reporting, hot site failover and Training work takes place in other hardware environments, taking these normal loads off of the production environment.
